Serrano Peppers Recalled Over Salmonella

WASHINGTONLos Angeles-based WorldVariety Produce Inc. is recalling Serrano peppers from Walmart and Jewel-Osco stores because they may be contaminated with Salmonella, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced March 18.

The recall involves Serrano peppers with Lot #69073901 produced in Mexico that were distributed to Walmart stores in Montana, Utah, Wisconsin and Wyoming, and Jewel-Osco stores in Illinois. The affected Serrano peppers were sold from bulk displays between the dates of March 1, 2011 through March 18, 2011.
