Solgar Completes Facilities Upgrade

LEONIA, N.J.--Solgar Vitamin & Herb completed more than $30 million in facilities renovation in a proactive move to stay ahead of upcoming federal GMP (good manufacturing practice) and international regulations. The upgrade included enhancements to Solgar's onsite laboratory, manufacturing, packaging and distribution facilities. Among the improvements were the installation of a USP water filtration system, which ensures the water used in manufacturing meets a Kosher standard as well; upgraded testing capabilities including NIR (near infrared spectroscopy) and AA (atomic absorption); and label updates to comply with U.S. allergen legislation.
