FRANKFORT, Ill.SoluBlend Technologies announced its technology to convert functional oils into  water-soluble  ingredientsomega3 fatty acids, resveratrol, coenzyme 10 (CoQ10), vitamin D, vitamin E and others achieved self-affirmed GRAS (generally regarded as safe) status. The process involved an intensive review of safety and toxicology data by an independent panel of scientists with regulatory, pharmacology and toxicological experience.

"Achieving self-affirmed GRAS status for water-soluble lipid products assures our customers they can safely use these clinically validated ingredients in an array of foods and beverages aimed at improving consumers' overall heart health," stated Richard Staack, Ph.D., chief executive officer of SoluBlend Technologies.  With this new patented technology, we are now opening up opportunities to provide shelf-stable, value-added and clear fortified beverages and foods that never existed on the market.

SoluBlends water-soluble technology allows a wide range of fat-based nutraceuticals to be blended into a variety of functional beverages and foods in a tasteless, odorless lipid. Now consumers can get the added benefits of fat-soluble nutraceuticals in juices, enhanced water, gummy and fruit snacks, carbonated and non-carbonated beverages, energy drinks, teas and other warm beverages such as soup and coffee where functional lipids have been difficult to incorporate. Additionally, fortifying products with SoluBlends ingredients does not impact the clarity, taste, texture or appearance of the end product and is cost effective at efficacious doses.
