IRVINE , Calif.Spirulina (Arthrospira) as a Green Food Supplement: Production, Quality Assurance and Application, one of the lead topics presented at the 6th Asia-Pacific Conference on Algal Biotechnology (APCAB), was presented by the authorsenior vice president and scientific director for Earthrise NutritionalsAmha Belay, Ph.D., at the conference held in Manila, Philippines from Oct. 12 through 15 this year. The conference also featured many aspects of algal biotechnology including commercial production of algae for food and for high-value nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals; the use of algae in the mitigation of environmental pollution; and genetic manipulation of algae to exploit desirable traits.
