Under Secretary for Food Safety Resigns Post

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Elizabeth Johnson, acting under secretary for food safety, USDA, has left her position to become the new executive vice president of public affairs for the National Restaurant Association. The position will remain vacant until President-elect Obama names a replacement.
In the interim, Scott Hurd, deputy under secretary for food safety, and Alfred Almanza, FSIS administrator, will steer the agency.
