Uneviscerated Fish Recalled in NYC

WASHINGTONHua Shing International Trading Corp., a New York, N.Y., is recalling frozen SCDA (fish) that was not properly eviscerated prior to processing and may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum spores that cause botulism, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Feb. 16.

The recall involves 14-ounce vacuum-packed packages of frozen SCDA (fish) with the code 111. The affected products were imported from China and sold to retailers in New York City.

The problem was discovered by New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors during a routine inspection.
