Uninspected Halal Beef Products Recalled in Texas

WASHINGTONHouston-based Raj Foods LLC is recalling approximately 3,300 pounds of halal beef samosa products that were sold to grocery stores and restaurants because a meat ingredient used in the product may have been produced in a facility that is not federally inspected, USDAs Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced May 16.

The recall involves 12-ounce bags of "Raj Foods Halal Beef Samosa(s)," containing 12, 1-ounce beef samosas per bag. The products bear the establishment number "EST. 44163" inside the USDA mark of inspection. This product was produced between Aug. 9, 2011, and April 23, 2012, and distributed to supermarkets and restaurants in Texas.
