USDA Offers $50 Million in EQIP Organic Incentives

WASHINGTON—The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced May 5 that farmers and growers can apply for $50 million in land stewardship funding to help pay the cost of converting their operations to organic production. The incentive is part of its Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).

As reported by Reuters, growers switching to organic production or expanding their organic operations and certified organic farmers who want to expand stewardship work can submit EQIP applications from May 11-29.
