Preservation and stability are crucial when manufacturing a probiotic product, with decisions such as processing method, delivery mechanism, storage and packaging all playing a key role. Even when a contract manufacturer gets all those components right, issues can arise, such as consumer concern regarding the use of corn-derived maltodextrin as a flow agent—and whether the corn was genetically modified.
