Virgo Publishing Announces SupplySide East 2007 Agenda, Events

Virgo Publishing, Phoenix, announced details for SupplySide East, scheduled for April 30 to May 2 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center, Secaucus, NJ. In addition to the exhibit hall with hundreds of ingredient suppliers and manufacturing service providers, SupplySide East will also feature a three-day education program, a VendorWorks seminar program and four networking events.

A Three-day Education Program Featuring Speakers from FDA and Tufts University
Vasilios Frankos, Ph.D., acting director, Division of Dietary Supplement Programs (DDSP), FDA, and Jeffrey Blumberg, Ph.D., FACN, CNS, senior scientist and director of the Antioxidants Research Laboratory, Jean Mayer USDA Human Research Nutrition Research Center on Aging, Tufts University, will be the featured speakers on Mon., April 30. Frankos will present “An Overview of FDA’s Adverse Reaction Reporting System for Dietary Supplements,” and Blumberg will deliver “The Promise of Prevention and the Problem of Proof.”
Speakers from AIBMR Life Sciences, American Botanical Council, American Herbal Products Association, Council for Responsible Nutrition, Federal Trade Commission, Frost & Sullivan, Herbalife International of America, Natural Products Association, University of Arizona and many other leading organizations will also present in the three-day education program, sponsored by EPAX.
Half-Day Workshop on Consumer Trends, Presented by The Natural Marketing Institute (NMI)
Steve French, M.B.A., NMI, and Gregory Stephens, R.D., will present “Nutritional Trends Workshop: Insight into the Future of Nutritional Products” on Mon., April 30 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. This exclusive, hands-on workshop will examine the latest consumer trends, discuss the implications of these trends relative to consumer needs, and help participants create meaningful corporate strategies based on the information presented. Additional registration is required.
VendorWorks Presentations
Two days of product-specific science, formulation and marketing will be addressed in exhibitor-sponsored VendorWorks Presentations on Tue., May 1, and Wed., May 2.
Science at SupplySide Poster Presentations
New product, ingredient and technology research will be displayed in the exhibit hall on Tue., May 1, and Wed., May 2. Company representatives will be available May 2 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. to answer questions.
Several additional events offer continued networking. The SupplySide East Golf Classic, co-sponsored by Marco HI-TECH and INSIDER, will be held on Mon., April 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at a members-only private golf course, Green Brook Country Club. International attendees will gather at the International Welcome Reception on Mon., April 30, from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. OptiPure/Soft Gel Technologies is sponsoring the ticketed event. The Opening Reception, Tue., May 1, is co-sponsored by DSM, Kyowa Hakko and Unigen Pharmaceuticals, and will be held in the exhibit hall during the last hour and a half of exhibit hall hours, 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Appreciation Reception will be held on the exhibit floor from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wed., May 2.
