WASHINGTON—FDA and WebMD announced a joint effort to help bring more health information from the regulatory agency overseeing food and drug safety to consumers. WebMD will add an online portal with information on the safety of FDA-regulated products—including public health alerts and recalls, details on how to report safety concerns to the agency, and consumer health articles from FDA. The agency already contributes consumer updates to WebMD’s print publication, which is distributed via health care practitioners offices; the articles will also be featured on the WebMD Web site.

The complete terms and components of the partnership are described in a Memorandum of Understanding which is on display at the Federal Register office and available online.
