Wellmune WGP® OK for Food in China

EAGAN, Minn.Wellmune WGP®, a proprietary strain of bakers yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) from Biothera, was authorized by the Ministry of Health in China for use as a novel food ingredient. The new designation allows immediate use of Wellmune WGP in foods and beverages throughout China.

In 2008, Sino Biothera HK Ltd. based in Hong Kong and Beijing was established to distribute Wellmune WGP and the companys other products in China. This organization will provide sales, marketing and technical support for Biothera in China for Wellmune WGP.

According to Biothera, Wellmune WGP is clinically proven to safely prime the immune system to keep the body healthy. Numerous studies published in peer-reviewed medical and science journals demonstrate how Wellmune WGP mobilizes innate immune cells that are part of the bodys natural defenses without over stimulating the immune system.
