CROWLEY, La.The Wright Group received Foundation for Food Safety Certification (FSSC) 22000, determining the company follows certain food safety systems. FSSC 22000 certifies food manufacturers that process or manufacture animal products, perishable vegetable products, products with a long shelf life and (other) food ingredients such as additives, vitamins and bio-cultures.

Certifications are one of the top ten things brand owners should ask contract manufacturers before they sign a contract, as outlined in this INSIDER slide show.

The FSSC 22000 certification scheme has been given full recognition by the Global Food Safety Initiative Board of Directors. This follows an extensive benchmarking process using the requirements laid out in the GFSI Guidance Document Version 5, and an addendum which was issued in December 2009.  This development is supported by the Confederation of the Food and Drink Industries of the European Union (CIAA).

Commenting on the certification, Sam Wright, president/CEO of The Wright Group stated, Gaining FSSC 22000 certification once again underlines The Wright Groups deep commitment to food safety and the highest standards of quality, sustainability and transparency in the industry today. Customers around the world are more sensitive than ever to these issues in the wake of several adulteration scandals in recent years and it has always been at the root of our founding philosophy to give the customer what he or she demands."

The Wright Group supplies custom premixes, enrichments and microencapsulation/granulations to a large group of blue chip clients for a wide range of end-market applications in the functional food, beverage and supplement industries. Their certifications also include ISO 22000, Circle U Kosher, Halal, cGMP and GMA-safe.  They have separate allergen processing facilities and adhere to HACCP, ISO, Food Safety, GMO-free and FDA Bioterrorism programs.
