The International Aloe Science Council (IASC) and the International Probiotics Association (IPA) announced new leaders at the organizations that promote research and use of natural ingredients in finished products.
IASC announced seven members were elected to serve three-year terms on the board of directors at the association's board meeting on March 9, in Anaheim, California. The recently-elected directors will work with 10 current directors to govern the association. IASC directors work with IASC staff and committees to set policies, priorities, and guidance for the association, and take action to promote the science of aloe vera and its use in a multitude of consumer products.
The newly-elected directors include Chris Clarke, vice president, Winning Solutions/Miracle of Aloe; Ramiro Estrada Evalos, chief executive officer, Aloe Jaumave; Charles Metcalfe, president, Custom Analytics; Xavier Resendez, vice president of Aloe Operations, Aloe Vera of America; Santiago Rodriguez, chief executive officer, Lorand Laboratories; John Sigrist, president, Southern Fields Aloe; and Virginia Smothers, operations manager, Naturtech.
During the month of March, the IASC is offering special pricing for companies applying for new membership in the association.
IPA selected George Paraskevakos to serve as its new executive director and will be responsible for directing the activities of the probiotic association’s global alliances and expansion. Mr. Paraskevakos has been the president of the IPA’s Board of Directors and served on the IPA’s board for six years. In addition to his work with the IPA, Paraskevakos served as the director of business development for Lallemand.
“We have aggressive goals for the IPA in the coming years and we are confident that George has the ability to move the organization to the next level and beyond," said Michael Bush, the IPA’s interim board president.
