SAN JUAN, Puerto RicoAutoPakEngineering Corp. (www.autopak.com) launched the Gap Transporter for productionlines, designed to afford increased flexibility and maximize productivity. Thesystem is ideal for packages measuring at least 0.5 inch in width, available ina variety of lengths and capable of operating at speeds up to 160 feet perminute. The Gap Transporter is designed to prevent spills from reachingdownstream equipment, mechanically verify the presence of caps on containers,equalize conveyor speeds for unstable products, provide access for marking andinspecting the bottoms of containers and rotate round containers for labeling orproper orientation. It is equipped with a digital counter to save setup time.

In additional news, AutoPak developed a new Blister PackingStation, designed to provide a flexible and economic solution for samplepackaging. Blisters are transported via AutoPaks modular XE Conveyor througha gap transporter to a manual packing station. A pre-set number of blisters areautomatically counted into waiting display trays. Once complete, operators closethe display trays, place them on an exit conveyor for case packing, and set up anew tray.
