On a website devoted to all things bacon, bacontoday.com, news about colored bacon is said to have garnered some one million page views. The story is simple, and unfortunately not very detailed, but it goes like this: Graphic designer Neil Caldwell took raw bacon, then dyed it and fried it. Raw or cooked, the bacon wows with vivid hues of red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet. End of story. Why Caldwell stopped one color short of the full ROYGBIV, nobody knows. Also a mystery is how he did this, or even why.

Bacontoday.com promises to stay on the trail and reveal new details as they come.
