CNI ~ Fibregum, Equacia

ROUEN, FranceColloïdes Naturels International (CNI) introduced Fibregum and Equacia. Fibregum is an all-natural acacia gum rich in soluble fiber (90 percent). Its low caloric value and noncariogenic properties, make it suitable for numerous functional food formulations (beverages, cereal bars, extruded products, etc.) and can be used for its technical and functional properties (emulsifying, stabilizing, encapsulating and texturizing).
Equacia is a texturizing ingredient that emulates fat texture, combining acacia soluble fibers and wheat insoluble fibers. It is a suitable fat replacer in a number of food applications, with no organoleptic modifications. A study was conducted with the AIB (American Institute of Baking USA) showing adding Equacia in muffins at levels of 1 percent to 2 percent allowed a 50-percent reduction of the fat content in the formulation. It is GRAS, GMO-free and gluten-free.
