LycoRed Opens Premix Plant in China

BEER SHEVA, Israel LycoRed Ltd. opened a new plant in Changzhou, China, for the production of nutritional premixes. According to the company, the plant will be fully operational by the end of 2012.

With ecological responsibility in mind, the modern construction, materials and plant systems used and installed in the plant were carefully selected to minimize energy requirements and optimize the use of water during plant and equipment clean-downs. LycoRed currently is completing equipment validation and securing the necessary quality certifications for production, including FSSC and MUI Halal.

Attaining FSSC 22000 Certification along with LycoReds high-value products highlights our ongoing commitment to providing customers with the safety, control and management of manufacturing quality products in accordance with industry expectations worldwide," explains Zelkha. ""It also increases opportunities for sustainable trade. The new plant is identical to the LycoRed plant in the UK as we want to act as global partner."

Our initial business plan is to satisfy the needs of existing multinational customers who have manufacturing facilities in both China and Asia Pacific, as well as the local needs of established food manufacturers in China looking for western standard," continues Zelkha. The factory has been designed and built to the highest quality standard. We anticipate growing our business with manufacturers of infant formulae in the region and also exporting to other regions of the world."
