StarchLite has been shown in clinical studies to delay digestion andabsorption of carbohydrates, and reduce the glycemic index (GI) and caloricimpact of starchy foods, according to the company (www.starchliteinfo.com). Theingredient can be formulated into a variety of foods and beverages, includingcereals, frozen foods, packaged meals, calorie control snacks, pasta, pizzacrust, soups and confectionery.

Pharmachem also introduced Lactium, a milk protein hydrolysate marketedfor stress reduction. According to the company, Lactium contains a bio-activepeptide with relaxing properties. Lactium is suitable for incorporation intosupplements and functional foods and beverages.
