Although seaweeds are estimated to have been around for 3.5 billion years, what many people don't realize is the unique and complex bioactive compounds that these marine plants contain compared to terrestrial plants. Seaweeds can provide natural nutritional and functional benefits for product formulations across the functional food, nutraceutical and cosmetics sectors.
Seaweed has evolved to contain natural antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-aging and other powerful properties. While there is still much to uncover about this versatile ingredient, the seaweed secrets we have learned come from knowledge gained about the many species of nutritionally dense and biologically complex marine plants found in our oceans, with more continuously being discovered by researchers around the globe.
Today, as a small but dedicated community of researchers continues to explore the benefits of seaweed, peer-reviewed white papers are increasingly being published. This growing body of research can play a key role for product formulators who are looking for advanced functionality for products, while also trying to keep pace with consumer trends that call for clean labels, fewer ingredients as well as traceable and sustainable ingredients.
In this webinar, you’ll learn about how seaweeds:
are a marine plant containing bioactive ingredients not found in regular terrestrial plants;
offer a natural functional ingredient for food, nutraceutical and cosmetics product formulators;
provide consumers with an ingredient that is sustainable, traceable and highly effective across a wide range of both internal and external applications;
are research-proven to serve up health benefits.
