DECATUR, Ill.—Archer Daniels Midland Company announced the appointment of Chris Boerm to president of the company’s grain group effective April 1, 2014. Boerm will oversee ADM’s U.S. and export grain businesses, grain merchandising operations and destination marketing businesses.

“With more than two decades and a range of experience at ADM, Chris has the knowledge and proven leadership to manage and grow our grains business," said Joe Taets, ADM senior vice president and president, Agricultural Services.

Boerm joined ADM in 1991 and has served in a variety of merchandising and management positions. Prior to his current role, he was ADM’s vice president, Grain. Previous to that, he served as adviser, Office of the Chairman. He also served as the vice president and general manager of Eastern Grain and Corn Processing Origination and as a senior merchandising manager for Corn Processing.

In February, ADM named Juan R. Luciano to president, a role he assumed in addition to his position as chief operating officer where he oversees the commercial and production activities of ADM’s corn, oilseeds, and agricultural services businesses, as well as its research, project-management and risk-management functions.
