Balchem Develops New Technologies

NEW HAMPTON, N.Y.Balchem Encapsulates developed three VitaDose Technologies, platforms creating what the company termed a new fast track product development engine for highly effective, differentiated and patentable products in tablet, capsule and powder forms. Balchem (Balchem.com) can also assist in formulation development using these platforms to deliver specialty dosage forms with cost benefits.

The first technology, VitaRelease, The Lipid Network, is a controlled release concept based on Balchems patent pending Lipid Network Tablet Technology. The technology permits precise, customized sustained release profiles for high-dose and low-dose actives, permitting single tablets to provide bi-layer fast-slow release of actives. VitaShure, The Lipid Particle, is an approach in taste masking, stability enhancement and sustained release, which works by combining customize release with taste masking in high-dose powders. And VitaSmooth, The Smooth Dissolve Matrix, uses ultra-smooth-disintegration technology to deliver a smooth-melting mouthfeel in tablets up to 40 percent smaller than ordinary tablets.
