DSM Ranks No. 1 in Sustainability

HEERLEN, The NetherlandsDSM remains in the No.1 position in the chemical industry sector in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. This was announced today in a press statement issued by SAM, an investment boutique focused exclusively on sustainability investing, and Dow Jones Indexes. After the initial publication of the 2010 sustainability scores in September 2010, SAM identified an issue in the software used to evaluate the results of the Corporate Sustainability Assessments and announced a reassessment of the 2010 scores. This review has now been completed.

In 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2009 DSM also ranked No. 1 in worldwide sustainability. In 2007 and 2008 the company ranked among the top leaders in the sector.

The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index includes over 300 companies from 34 countries that rank among the top 10% in their industries in terms of corporate sustainability. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes track the performance of the leading sustainability-driven companies worldwide through a thorough assessment of companies economic, environmental and social performance and accounts for more than 50 general as well as industry-specific criteria in each sector.
