The NEXTY Awards at SupplySide West recognize innovation, inspiration and integrity across a range of finished product categories—from condition-specific supplements and nutrient delivery innovation to functional food/beverage and brand storytelling. Eligible products must have been launched to the U.S. consumer market between summer 2018 and July 31, 2019.

Known for the last seven years as the SupplySide West Editor’s Choice Awards, in 2019 the ECAs have been rebranded as the NEXTY Awards at SupplySide West. This evolution embraces the industry recognition of the NEXTY brand as a symbol of excellence and further aligns the SupplySide and Natural Products Expo events.

The category for Best Multivitamin showcases products that offer innovation in more ways than one. Innovation can be as simple as a brand being transparent about the source of its ingredients from seed to shelf. Transparency isn’t just a buzzword but something that can resonate with consumers and contribute to consumer retention. Innovation can take the form of unique and different delivery forms. Consumers have shown positive reception to delivery forms that aren’t simply pills. Gummies, powders, drinks and even chocolate can be found on multivitamin shelves in 2019. One area of interest would be children’s multivitamins. Gummies have cemented themselves as the dominant delivery form for children, but the market is beginning to see the makings of brands beginning to go in a different direction than the gummy.

Llama Naturals Plant Based Vitamin Bite.jpg

Lil’ Llama Naturals offers their Plant-Based Vitamin Bites, a strawberry and cherry flavored multivitamin gummy for children. Their multivitamin is free of artificial sweeteners, gelatin, artificial ingredients, colorings, synthetics and added sugar cane. They include 13 natural vitamins from fruits and vegetables. Their multivitamins are also slow cooked on low heat to retain rich phytonutrients and fruit flavor. Some of the ingredients, include organic apples, organic strawberries, organic baobab fruit powder, organic sunflower oil and organic rice bran.

Immune Support Natural Cure Labs.jpg

Premium Immune Support supplements from NaturalCure Labs provide a vegan blend of L-Lysine and 15 vitamins, minerals and herbs. The dosage and weights have been carefully selected for potency and maximum immune function. Certified by a third-party lab, their supplement is formulated to work with monolaurin, a medium-chain saturated fatty acid found in coconut oil, to support and regulate healthy immune function. It also features no artificial colors, artificial flavors, sugar, dairy, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat or soy.

VitaNourish’s multivitamin water offers consumers a unique and innovative delivery form for taking their daily multivitamin on the go. Their multivitamin water contains essential vitamins, including vitamins C, B1, B12, B5 and B6 without containing masking agents. To get around not using flavor masking, VitaNourish utilizes nano-sized vitamin particles that cannot be detected by the human eye. A serving size isn’t the entire bottle either, but 12 fluid oz.

One winner in each category will be announced Friday, Oct. 18, from 12:30 to 1 p.m., on the SupplySide Central Stage (booth #5759) at SupplySide West 2019, held at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
