Consumers Determine 'LifeSupplemented' Donation to Vitamin Angels

WASHINGTONThe "Lifesupplemented" campaign will donate $10,000 to Vitamin Angels, an amount determined by consumer participation in the campaigns live video stream hosted by Hungry Girl Lisa Lillien on Jan. 5, 2011.  

Vitamin Angels is honored to accept this donation from the CRN Foundations LifeSupplemented campaign," said Howard Schiffer, president & founder of Vitamin Angels. For the 40,000 children around the world whose health and wellbeing will hugely benefit from dietary supplements, we are so thankful."

The live online video stream featured a panel of wellness experts: Dave Grotto, R.D.; Duffy MacKay, N.D.; and certified personal trainer Andrea Metcalf, and provided consumers the opportunity to have their health and wellness questions addressed. For every tweet, retweet, online question, reply to @wannaBwell or @HungryGirl and use of the #3pillars hashtag related to the live event, Lifesupplemented" pledged to donate $10 to Vitamin Angels (up to $10,000 total).

The contribution has been made as part of the Lifesupplemented Wellness Challenge initiative, designed to motivate people to take simple lifestyle steps within the three pillars of healthhealthy diet, supplements and exercise.  As part of the ongoing Challenge, Lifesupplemented" and Vitamin Angelsboth of which have active social media communitieswill engage consumers online about the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle through the three pillars of health, and how vitamins and other supplements play an important role.

Consumers participating in the Wellness Challenge will have two more opportunities throughout the next few months to help raise additional funds for Vitamin Angelsa tweet-a-thon has been planned for February and other Facebook initiatives will take place in March.
