WASHINGTON— The Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN) announced it is a Bronze sponsor for the 3rd International Vitamin Conference (IVC), taking place in Washington, D.C., May 12-15. The symposium will feature more than 50 oral presentations and more than 40 poster presentations, providing participants with an excellent opportunity to strengthen international collaborations for ongoing research in the vitamin community.
“CRN is pleased to support the IVC in its third year," said Duffy MacKay, N.D., senior vice president, scientific and regulatory affairs, CRN. “The meeting has become a key convergence of experts on the science of dietary supplements, making it a natural fit for our association’s commitment to supporting the science behind supplements and nutrition."
MacKay will present during a "lunch and learn" session on Wednesday, May 14, at noon. His talk, “The Role of Vitamin Supplements in Filling Nutrient Gaps," will focus on published data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) that shows large portions of the United States population are not getting sufficient amounts of essential vitamins and minerals. MacKay will also present data from a review he co-authored, recently published in Nutrition Journal, that analyzed more than 20 studies on the health habits of dietary supplement users to provide insight into the lifestyle choices of this large segment of the American population.
Registration for IVC is now open and available online through May 4 at www.vitaminconference.com.
