KINGSPORT, Tenn.EastmanChemical Co. expanded its line of NuTriene tocotrienols, a mixture of naturallyoccurring tocotrienols and tocopherols extracted and concentrated from rice branoil and designed for vitamin E fortification. NuTriene tocotrienols provide ahigh concentration of tocotrienols and tocopherols to form a complete vitamin E.

In addition, the company introduced water-soluble,taste-neutral Eastman Vitamin E TPGS for clear, isotonic, fortified waters andother functional beverages. The self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognized assafe) ingredient can be formulated for beverages at 10 times the recommendeddaily allowance for vitamin E without changing taste or appearance of thefinished product. Vitamin E TPGS is suitable for use in juices, dairy- andsoy-based drinks, and is compatible with a wide range of beverage ingredientsand additives including vitamins, minerals, electrolytes, fibers and proteins.
