ORLANDO, Fla.The second clinical study on Fast-C, a patent pending vitamin C ingredient from Scientific Food Solutions and distributed by E.T. Horn in partnership as Alkemy Partners LLC, was presented at the American College of Nutrition conference.

This most recent clinical trial, a double blind, randomized crossover study, enrolled 10 male, non-smoking subjects, which is equivalent to a 20-person non-crossover study. It was conducted at Miami Research Associates, a U.S.-based pharmaceutical and nutrition research facility employing Good Clinical Practices.

The study showed a significantly faster rise in blood vitamin C in the first 90 minutes. Despite the faster entry of vitamin C into the blood with Fast-C, urinary excretion was slightly less, suggesting good retention by tissues. The bioavailability comparison was to the leading vitamin C formulation at a 1,000 mg single dose.
