Food to Put You in the Mood
October 27, 2009
What we eat affects all aspects of health. Food affects our skin, hair, energy and even what happens behind closed doors with that special someone. An article on Love Hacks lists 21 foods that can boost libido and make love making more enjoyable for you and your partner. Some of the foods listed increase sex hormones and sperm count, but the article says the most important foods help blood flow and circulation.
The first 16 items on the libido-boosting food list can help both men and women get in the mood. They include watermelon, dark chocolate, asparagus, oysters and sauerkraut.
Four foods listed will help men in the bedroom. It says men should consume foods high in zinc, such as beans, which boosts sperm production, and foods that assist testosterone production, such as steak.
The one food the article suggests specifically for women is soy. A 2008 study in the Journal of Sexual Medicine showed that a healthy dose of soy each day may boost some womens sexual drive and arousal, apparently due to the large phytoestrogen content of soy products.
