NEW YORKThe third annual Charity Golf Outing hosted by The Vitamin Shoppe and Natures Value raised nearly $350,000 for the nonprofit organization, Vitamin Angels. The May 7 event was presented in conjunction with SupplySide MarketPlace held May 8 to 10 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York.

Through corporate sponsorships, all net proceeds from the golf outing went to Vitamin Angels. With a cost of just 25 cents per child per year to provide life-saving vitamin A, Vitamin Angels will be able to reach almost 1.4 million children in 2013 as a result of the golf outing.

Last year, we reached almost 25 million children in 41 countries including the United States," said Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels during a dinner that followed the golf outing.

More than 200 individuals came out to participate in four person scrambles at the Crystal Springs Resort.

Last year, Vitamin Angels took in $43,000 in donations at SupplySide West 2011.
