SANTA BARBARA, Calif.Charity Navigator recognized Vitamin Angels as one of Ten Highly Rated Charities Relying on Private Contributions." Vitamin Angels is dedicated to reducing child mortality worldwide by advancing availability, access and use of essential micronutrients, especially Vitamin A, to newborns, infants and children younger than 5.

These 10 excellent charities draw revenue solely from direct and indirect public support," said Charity Navigator, America's premier independent charity evaluator. They report no government funding, no membership fees and no revenue from earned income. As a result, more than 95 percent of their total revenue comes from private contributions, which makes the efficiency of their fundraising operations all the more impressive."

Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels said, Vitamin Angels is honored to receive this recognition. Five years ago we were reaching 2 million children a year. This year Vitamin Angels is reaching more than 22 million children, and we are in position to reach 30 million children in 2011. This is all possible because of the support from our private enterprise donors."

Through the support of more than 100 corporate sponsors, promotional partners and product donors from within the natural products and dietary supplements industries and beyond, Vitamin Angels is reaching more than 20 million children in 2010.

Vitamin Angels efficiency has earned two consecutive 4-star ratings from Charity Navigator. In 2010, Vitamin Angels will connect more than 20,000,000 children in 40 countries, including the United States, with the vital nutrients they need as a foundation for good health.
