OAK BROOK, Ill.More than one in three moms are aware of the sweetener stevia, according to a survey conducted by PureCircle and market researcher LaunchForce.

The research was conducted Spring 2009 with moms, aged 25 to 49, who are the primary grocery shoppers in their household. The Internet survey asked respondents about their awareness and perception of sweeteners and brands, product category opportunity and how specific sweeteners fit with brands.

Its critical to know what mom wants for her family and herself, said Jason Hecker, PureCircles director of marketing. Because mom is most often the gatekeeper for her family, an intimate understanding of her current beliefs, likes and dislikes is an essential foundation to any product development and marketing communications plan.

More findings from this research will be presented during a Webinar Oct. 20 at 10:30 a.m. CDT.
