WEST CALDWELL, N.J.Intertek released a report supporting bitter orange extract dosages up to 60 mg. Intertek, a quality and safety service provider, reviewed the safety of p- synephrine, the dominant amine in Advantra Z, a natural thermogenic ingredient by Nutratech.

This report, issues on Sept. 13, 2012, is one of six recorded documents supporting the aforementioned dosing guidelines. The report concluded that the dosage is not likely to cause adverse effects, and states: " "Although p-synephrine and caffeine have been assumed to produce similar clinical effects, but through different mechanisms, recent data regarding the isoform of synephrine present in C. aurantium [bitter orange] extracts and from receptor binding studies indicates that p-synephrine is unlikely to have significant effects on inotropy, vasoconstriction, or blood pressure."

Intertek reviewed scientific information and data regarding the ingredient's safety, and the report cited 71 references.
