Nestle Launches Instant Coffee with Phase 2 in Thailand

KEARNY, N.J.Pharmachem Laboratories announced its Phase 2 Carb Controller ingredient is the key functional ingredient in the new Nescafe Protect ProSlim instant coffee, introduced in Thailand by Nestle Thailand. The functional beverage delivers an efficacious dosage of Phase 2, a patented, GRAS (generally recognized as safe) white bean extract that reduces digestion and absorption of dietary starch.

Mitch Skop, senior director, new product development, Pharmachem, said, Phase 2 Carb Controller is one of the few ingredients to make the transition from supplements to food. The burgeoning market for functional foods and beverages is very promising for ingredients that have demonstrated efficacy and safety.
