BENICIA, Calif. Two new clinical research studies published in the journals Obesity and the Journal of Medicinal Food have proven the weight-loss benefits of Meratrim® by InterHealth Nutraceuticals.

Randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled research published in Obesity demonstrated the significant effect Meratrim has on weight loss and hip and waist circumference when compared to a placebo group. These results were pooled together with results from a separate study and published in the Journal of Medicinal Food. Combined results demonstrated significant reduction of weight, waist and hip circumference, blood lipid and glucose levels, as well as an increase in quality of life parameters  after just two weeks.

Most companies are looking for two published, well-designed clinical studies to support unique structure/function claims for their weight management products," said Paul Dijkstra, InterHealths CEO. The publication of the pooled data, as well as the publication of the 60-subject study in Obesity, provides valid substantiation for manufacturers."

After two weeks of supplementing with 400 mg of Meratrim twice per day, subjects experienced significantly reduced body weights by 4.5 pounds, and waist and hip circumference by 1.6 inches and 1 inch, respectively, compared to the placebo group. After eight weeks, weight was significantly reduced by 11.5 pounds, and waist and hip circumferences were reduced by 4.7 inches and 2.4 inches. Study participants walked 30 minutes five days per week, and they followed a standard 2,000 kcal/day diet as part of the lifestyle change.

Meratrim is a proprietary blend of two plant extracts, Sphaeranthus indicus flower heads and Garcinia mangostana fruit rind. Each plant contributes an essential part to Meratrims ability to modulate multiple pathways involved in fat cell formation and fat breakdown.
