NEW YORKAs summer comes to an official end, sales of major soft drink brands have fizzled in part to consumers increased focus on healthier beverages, according to the Brandweek BrandIndex Report by YouGov, a weekly consumer perception report that analyzes the most talked about brands based on weighing positive and negative perceptions of a brand.

According to the data gleaned from interviews with 5,000 people each weekday from a representative U.S. population sample, scores of soda brands with the highest buzz dipped modestly over the past 12 weeks, compared to the previous three months. The data suggests the drop is the result of growing health concerns and anti-obesity campaigns.

Only Dr. Pepper registered a positive tick: Dr. Pepper. Coca Cola, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi and Sprite remained in the same top four spots, compared to three months ago. Mug Root Beer and Sunkist also remained in the No. 9 and No. 10 spots, respectively. A&W and Canada Dry edged up a spot, while 7UP and Mountain Dew slipped one each.
