SANTA CLARA, Calif. The shortage for sucralose is over, according to international sweetener distributor Phytochem International. The company announced in May that the Aspartame alternative was in shortage, as many companies upgraded facilities and infrastructure to maintain compliance.

Phytochem's sales and marketing manager Tom Winn said the sucralose sweetener market is dominated by Tate & Lyle, but Chinese manufacturers selling the sweetener at a slim margin may make headway. Though prices are currently stable, they may spike for higher demand in the summer. However, Winn noted manufacturers now have the capacity to handle rising demand.
