Tonalin® Study Praised
LA GRANGE, Ill.A study using Tonalin® conjugated linoleic acid(CLA) was selected as one of 25 exemplary papers to appear in the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of DietarySupplements (ODS) Annual Bibliography of Significant Advances in DietarySupplement Research 2004 (http://ods.od.nih.gov/pubs/ODS_CHPA_Bibliography_2004.pdf).
The study is one of 25 original research articles selected from more than 325studies from 53 peer-reviewed journals nominated for inclusion in the ODSreview, which was released in October 2005. In the randomized, double blind,placebo-controlled, 12-month study, researchers found CLA (as Tonalin, fromCognis Nutrition & Health) reduces body fat mass in overweight, butotherwise healthy, adults by as much as 9 percent without dietary or lifestylerestrictions (Am J Clin Nutr, 7, 6:1118-25, 2004).
This recognition from the worlds foremost scientific authorities is anamazing testament to the research that continues to distinguish Tonalin as theleading brand of CLA for optimal body composition, said Christine Peggau, global market segment manager with Cognis (www.cognis.com). It is an honor tobe included in this prestigious publication and we congratulate Dr. Jean-Michel Gaullier, of Scandinavian Clinical Research in Kjeller, Norway, and hiscolleagues for their outstanding work.
